Zika Aerial spray for Mosquitos kills millions of honeybees

It's amazing that our world keeps behaving on this way. Every time the news are worse, this breaks the common human sense. Millions of honeybees lie dead after being sprayed with an insecticide targeting Zika-carrying mosquitoes.

Juanita Stanley, co-owner of Flowertown Bee Farm and Supply in Summerville, South Carolina was absolutely in shock after discovering that their complete colony was gone.

After the spraying of the area began that sunny sunday morning, they have lost in a few minutes of the action 46 beehives -- more than 3 million bees

   

Now they would have to destroy all their colonys, the baby larve left alive still inside the hives and the structures of wood as well. It's all contaminated by the spraying.

For me as an environmentalist, we the humanity are on the brink of the total destruction of the animal species, specially the insects. Bees are essential for human food sustainability. Why governments keep doing this stupid behaviour instead of looking for more sustainable ways of control pest.
